About this internship
We’re looking for a UX Design Intern to join the Platform Experiences (PEX) team at Align Technology. This internship offers hands-on experience in designing intuitive, elegant, and scalable digital solutions that connect the Invisalign®, iTero®, and exocad® ecosystems.
You’ll work alongside experienced designers, product managers, and engineers to help shape the future of digital orthodontics and restorative dentistry. This role is ideal for students who are passionate about human-centered design, eager to learn in a fast-paced environment, and interested in how design can make a meaningful impact in healthcare technology.
In this internship, you will…
Collaborate with designers, product managers, and developers to support the delivery of user-centered solutions.
Create wireframes, user flows, and prototypes that align with the Align Design System (ADS) and product requirements.
Participate in user research and assist in translating insights into design recommendations.
Contribute to design critiques, apply feedback, and continuously refine your design craft.
Help ensure design consistency, usability, and accessibility across platforms.
Learn how to work effectively within a cross-functional, global design organization.
In this internship, you’ll need …
Typically:
Active university student in orthodontics, dentistry or related fields, preferably at least 80% advanced in the program.
Interest in learning how clinical and support processes operate, including basic follow‑up of cases, priorities, and response times.
Ability to review and analyze basic information to support the identification of improvement opportunities, with guidance from the team.
Good organizational skills and sense of responsibility when handling information and following up on clinical cases, with attention to detail and quality.
Willingness to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, interacting with Clinical, Support, and Quality areas in a professional environment.
Clear communication skills to report findings and escalate risks when necessary.
Proactive, structured, and solution-oriented mindset.
Intermediate–advanced English (written and verbal).
Availability to allocate 24+ hours per week to the internship.
INS Student Insurance Policy.
Note: This internship is on-site only (no Work From Home for interns).
Duration: 6 months.
Modality: 100% on-site.
Minimum availability: 3 full days per week (approx. 28 hours weekly).
