Lead Software Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Lead Software Engineer / Chapter Lead who combines strong hands-on technical expertise with engineering leadership. This role is ideal for someone passionate about building scalable backend platforms, mentoring engineers, and driving engineering standards across multiple teams.

Responsibilities:

Technical Leadership 

Design and build scalable backend services, APIs, and cloud-native applications.

Lead development using at least two of the following technologies: 

Python

Node.js

C#

Drive architecture decisions for microservices, distributed systems, and event-driven platforms.

Establish best practices for coding, testing, security, performance, and production readiness.

Partner with Product, Architecture, DevOps, and Engineering teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

Lead technical reviews, code reviews, knowledge-sharing sessions, and technical interviews.

Support hiring, onboarding, capability development, and engineering growth initiatives.

Cloud & Platform Engineering 

Design and deploy applications on AWS.

Build and manage containerized solutions using Docker and Kubernetes.

Develop event-driven systems using Kafka.

Collaborate with DevOps/SRE teams to improve CI/CD, monitoring, reliability, and operational excellence.

Qualifications:

✔ 10+ years of software engineering experience with a strong focus on backend development and platform engineering.

✔ Hands-on expertise in at least two of the following technologies: Python, Node.js, C#, or Go.

✔ Strong experience building and supporting REST APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.

✔ Proven experience with AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes in cloud-native environments.

✔ Experience implementing and supporting Kafka-based event-driven architectures.

✔ Strong understanding of CI/CD, automated testing, observability, security, and production support.

✔ Demonstrated experience leading engineers through mentoring, code reviews, technical design reviews, and engineering best practices.

✔ Experience defining engineering standards, governance processes, and technical direction across multiple teams.

✔ Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence technical decisions across squads.

✔ Experience supporting technical hiring, interviewing, onboarding, and capability development.

Preferred

Previous experience as a Lead Software Engineer, Technical Lead, Chapter Lead, or Engineering Manager.

Experience working in Agile environments.

Cloud certifications (AWS) are a plus.
